Co-Act at Weston Arts Gallery in Locking Road opens this evening, Monday 20 August, with a preview event from 7.00PM until 10.00PM. The exhibition, which has been curated by local artist Lilly Kate Hillage, features collaborative artwork by artists and creative minds from Weston-super-Mare, across the UK and as far afield as Japan.
The exhibiting artists include Ady Radford, Aimee Taylor, Annika Wilson, Caroline Hutchins, Claire Allard-Morgan, Ferdi Allard-Morgan, Erik Stromberg, Jon M Boyter, Jon Webster, Joshua Williams, JPS, Lilly Kate Hillage, Kirsten Harrison, Kone, Mason Storm, Mischa Matthews-Hill, Nathanael Draws, Si Dodd, Stealer Artman, Tale Spencer, Tim Neale, Karen Blake, Ruby Blake, Ian Walker, Vera Denil and Corey Webb.
The exhibition will be open daily until Saturday 25 August and further information is available through the Facebook events page.
As one exhibition closes another one opens, this time at Studio 10 in Orchard Place which is hosting a preview night for Bill Thorpe: A Portrait of Dirty30 on Friday, from 6.00PM until 10.00PM.
The exhibition, which forms part of the Weston Fringe Festival, is the first solo show by Bill Thorpe, aka Dirty30, a UK-based graffiti artist known for his trademark round face which has become a familiar sight to many in the UK and further afield.
Dirty30 took the decision to become a self-employed artist and designer after studying design at university and graduating at a time when creative roles were scarce. Seven years later he has worked with several record labels and clothing brands as well as exhibiting all over the world. His work isn’t just seen in galleries, it can also be found on the street in the form of paste-ups and stickers.
For further info see Bill Thorpe: A Portrait of Dirty30 will run at Studio 10 until Saturday 08 September.
