Comfort at Christmas has made an urgent appeal for volunteers to help out in Weston-super-Mare over the festive period.
For more than 20 years the charity has provided food and accommodation for homeless people in the resort, and once again this year it will be opening a temporary shelter from 1.00PM on Friday 23 December until Wednesday 28 December. The shelter is housed at St Paul’s Church in Walliscote Road.
Organisers are expecting dozens of homeless people to turn up but at the moment they simply don’t have enough people to help run the shelter.
To ensure that the shelter can remain open throughout Christmas the charity urgently needs people to work evening and night shifts.
Comfort at Christmas needs around 30 volunteers to help ensure that those less fortunate members of the community do not miss out on food and a warm place to stay this Christmas.
If you are able to help please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Jon on 01934 813139.
